This award-winning 16-story residential building of reinforced masonry includes 201 affordable residences for seniors. Located in a Coastal A flood zone, the first floor is a cast-in-place structure raised six ft above grade that has an end wall designed for wave impact from the East River in the event of a 100-year event. The second floor structure is also reinforced concrete with transfer girders that support bearing wall above in order to create open space at the entry and lobby.
